Definitely a standout among the many Indian & South Asian restaurants in the neighborhood.
Palak chaat was unique and delicious -- every leaf of spinach was somehow light and crispy. We also got chicken tikka masala and a great cauliflower dish in a smoky sauce. I've never been a huge fan of cauliflower, but would eat that every day.
Service was excellent. The owner made sure to check in with us about our preferred level of spice as we ordered, and even offered us a dish of several hot sauces to try on the side. She also came by our table to chat about the menu afterward, and we left already planning what to try next time.
The prices are extremely reasonable as well, especially compared to some of the places up on Cortelyou. We got an appetizer, two entrees, naan, and rice, and it only came to about $30 -- and we had leftovers.
We will definitely come back soon and often, and will recommend it to our neighbors. -

Pretty decent and cozy spot with a couple of tables and aesthetic decor. Prices are decent as well. Service wasn't good. Plates weren't given until we asked, and when I corrected an order to the waitress, she responded with a 1/2 smile, and confusingly and rudely said "I don't know", um ok..
Food was so/so. "Chicken dum biryani" tasted like plain rice made with a different type of oil. Vegan fries were just another term for seasoned fries. Who are they trying to fool?
Papri Chaat was very tasty as well as their mango lassi. -

Easily one of the best meals I've had in NYC. I'm not a vegetarian but I only had vegetarian dishes here and they were all incredible.
The chickpea salad was a great starter and the palak chaat is a must have. It's filled with flavor and yet is very light - the perfect appetizer.
I also recommend the dahi puri as a starter; it is very light and literally bursts with flavors.
The vegan biryani is also strongly recommended! It is a perfect accompaniment to the other dishes with more sauce.
Overall I will definitely return again and again! -

Let's first off and say I was skeptical of all the great reviews and decided to try it out myself since I was in the neighborhood. Upon entry, it's a small compact type of space for the restaurant. It has a home type feeling with the entire staff greeting you.
I had the Lamb Tikka Masala and my other half had Shrimp Yogurt Curry. Wait time is usually longer than other similar restaurants which I estimated 25+ mins until my meal arrived.
I must say it was worth the wait. It was extremely delicious with the aroma of home cooking stimulating my senses. The Naan and Yellow Rice Sahri (think it's called) complimented our Curry dishes and we both ate our entire meal.
My other half ordered both dishes as spicy but for me...nothing I came across that's too spicy since I been use to it as a kid. But the extra spiciness caught her off guard LOL
We were greeted by the owner(s) and one of them noticed my other half was breathing fire . Then the next course of action which I took notice and saw a really kind gesture from management.
The guy brought her Rasmali with extra milk to help sooth the spicy food she ate which I find incredibly admirable and sincere. Things like this what makes or break a restaurant and warranted my positive review with great food and sincerity. I am for sure coming back again to try other dishes. Thank you for the warm hospitality!
Bonus Note: Food is Halal -

This place is a hidden gem in the Ditmas Park area of Brooklyn. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious -- complex, subtle, healthy, and deeply satisfying. The service is friendly, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the serving sizes are huge. The owner is an inspirational woman, very involved in the community (helping women and immigrant children). This is a place worthy of your business!
